Biography

Schröter, Schroeter, Schroeder, Johann Heinrich, *around 1760 Warsaw, †after 1784, German violinist and composer, son of Johann Friedrich. As a child prodigy (violinist) he performed in 1770 in Leipzig. In 1771–73 he took part in the Schröter family tour. He went with his father to Hanau in 1779. Johann Heinrich performed with his sister Maria in Frankfurt am Main. In 1782 he undertook a short journey in Germany, the Netherlands and possibly France, he probably also visited London and Paris. In the 1784/85 season he co-organised concerts in Rotterdam. He composed 6 violin duets (published in London around 1772), Duo concertons Op. 1, for 2 violins (6 piece, published in Paris around 1785 and 6 trios concertons Op. 3, for string instruments (published in London and Paris around 1786).
