Pfeiffer, Carl Anton
Pfeiffer, Pfeifer Joseph Anton, *8 March 1828 Riedlingen on the Danube, †6 April 1881 Stuttgart, German piano builder. He was a student of C. Kützing in Bern. From 1862, he ran a piano factory in Stuttgart (initially together with the pianist and publisher S. Lebert, named Joseph A. Pfeiffer & Co), where in 1872, he completed the 1,000th instrument, employing 14 people. His piano was awarded an honorary distinction at the world exhibition in Paris in 1867.
