Biography and Literature

Didur Olga, married name Wiktorowa, *18 October 1900 Warsaw, †18 July 1963 Katowice, Polish singer (soprano). She appeared on stage (also with her father) in Krakow (1924–1926) and in Lviv (1926, 1928, 1936) and at the Teatr Wielki in Warsaw (as Marguerite in Gounod’s Faust, 1927; title role as Tosca in Puccini’s opera, 1931). In 1930, she made her debut at the Metropolitan Opera House (as Preziosilla in Verdi’s La forza del destino [“The Force of Destiny”]; as Parasya in The Fair at Sorochyntsi by Mussorgsky). In the years 1947–1960 she sang at the Silesian Opera in Bytom (including Giuletta and Antonia in Offenbach’s The Tales of Hoffmann, Miss Benson in Lakmé by L. Delibes).
