Dancla, Léopold
Dancla Arnaud-Philippe-Pierre, *1 January 1819 Bagnères-de-Bigorre, †1 February 1862 Bagnères-de-Bigorre, brother of J.-B. Charles, French cellist and composer. In 1841 he completed the cello class of L.-P. Norblin at the Paris Conservatory with first prize. He was a member of the orchestra of the Société des Concerts du Conservatoire (1847–1861) and of the Opéra-Comique. He performed mainly as a chamber musician.
