Biography

Artôt Jean Désiré, actually Montagney, *23 September 1803 Paris, †25 March 1887 Saint-Josse ten Noode (now Brussels), Maurice’s son, French-Belgian horn player. From 1843, professor at the conservatory in Brussels, in 1849–73, first horn player of King Leopold I’s band. He composed, among others: etudes and fantasies for horn and quartets for 4 horns.
