Friderici-Jakowicka Teodozja, *18 June 1835 Kielce, †3 November 1889 Warsaw, Polish singer (soprano). She learned in Warsaw, as a student of Kornelia Quattrini and J. Dobrski (singing), as well as I.F. Dobrzyński (piano). Friderici-Jakowicka continued her vocal studies in Paris and under F. Lamperti in Milan. On 21 March 1865 she made her debut in V. Bellini’s The Sleepwalker (part of Amina) at Teatr Wielki in Warsaw. She performed with great success on European stages, as well as in New York and Havana; she also sang many times in Warsaw, Lviv, Poznan and Krakow. In 1870 she was employed at Milan’s La Scala. From 1884 to 1886 she taught at the Teatr Wielki’s School of Singing. Her repertoire included nearly 40 operas, including leading roles in Lucia di Lammermoor by G. Donizetti, Norma V. Bellini, L’Africaine, Les Huguenots and Robert le diable by G. Meyerbeer, La Traviata, Ernani, Don Carlos and Aida by G. Verdi and Halka by S. Moniuszko.
