Biography

Weber Fridolin, Fritz, Stephan Johannes Nepomuk Andreas Maria von, baptised 29 November 1761 Hildesheim, †11 March 1833 Hamburg, German violinist, violist and composer, son of Franz Anton from his first marriage. He was a student of J. Haydn and musician of the court ensemble of the Dukes of Esterházy in Eisenstadt, as well as the author of pastiches of Haydn’s stage works, staged with the composer’s permission, including Der Freybrief (featuring Franz Anton, staged in Meiningen in 1789), based on fragments of opera La fedeltà premiata.
