Biography

Szulc Henryk, *31 January 1836 Warsaw, †11 February 1903 Warsaw, Polish violinist, conductor, and composer. Multi-talented, he played many instruments. He was a violinist and concertmaster of the orchestra of the Grand Theatre in Warsaw for over 30 years; he also worked as a violinist and conductor in the orchestra of L. Lewandowski’s Teatr Rozmaitości and a double bass teacher at the Institute of Music in Warsaw. He composed orchestral pieces (including Divertissement for the opening of the Grand Theatre) and chamber pieces (for cello and piano).
