Hewitt, James
Hewitt James Lang, *1807, †1853, American music publisher of English origin, and the son of James. From 1825, he was associated with J.A. Dickson’s publishing firm in Boston. Following his father’s death in 1827, he took over his publishing business and music magazine in New York, which he ran successfully until the late 1840s.
