Ferras, Christian *17 June 1933 Le Touquet-Paris-Plage (Pas-de-Calais), †15 September 1982 Paris, French violinist. He studied at the conservatories of Nice and Paris, and additionally trained under Georges Enescu. He won first prize at the International Violin Competition in Scheveningen (1948) and at the Long-Thibaud International Competition in Paris. Ferras was chiefly known as an outstanding interpreter of classical and Romantic violin concertos. He performed across Europe, the United States, South Africa, Australia, and Japan.
