Dutkiewicz Andrzej, *30 September 1942, Polish pianist and composer. Between 1963 and 1968, he studied at the State Higher School of Music in Warsaw under J. Lefeld and R. Smendzianka (piano), and then, between 1968 and 1973, under W. Rudziński (composition). In 1970, he won second prize at the International Competition for Performers of Contemporary Music in Rotterdam. Between 1973 and 1976, he continued his studies at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester under E. List (piano) and Samuel Adler and Wyne Barlow (composition). He is the founder and director of the ensemble “Grupa XX”, which specialises in performing contemporary music. Dutkiewicz’s repertoire is very wide-ranging, with a focus on contemporary music. He has performed extensively both at home and abroad. He has made numerous recordings (including for radio and television).
