Cappi Carlo, an Austrian music publisher and son of Giovanni.
He did not take over the publishing firm until 1821. In 1822, he received a licence, and in 1824, he reorganised the company. This led to the founding of Cappi & Company, which he ran with his cousin Pietro Cappi. He started a new series of the plate numbers.
The company was a significant publishing house, printing works by Schubert, amongst others. In 1826, Pietro Cappi withdrew from the partnership and was replaced by Joseph Czerny (*14 June 1785, †22 September 1831), and in 1828 Carlo Cappi also left the company to and became a civil servant (in 1826 the company changed its name to Cappi & Czerny, and after Carlo Cappi’s departure it operated under the name Joseph Czerny).
