Bréval Lucienne, born Berthe Agnès Lisette Schilling, *4 November 1869 Männedorf (Switzerland), †15 August 1935 Paris, French singer (dramatic soprano) of Swiss origin. She studied at the conservatories in Geneva and Paris. After her debut in 1892 in Meyerbeer’s L’Africaine at the Paris Opera, she was a soloist at that theatre for nearly 30 years, also appearing occasionally in London and on American stages (1900–02). She was admired both for her voice of exceptional power and richness of tone and for her dramatic expressiveness and stage presence.
