Bobiński Henryk, count of Kościesz, *19 January 1861 Warsaw, †24 April 1914 Warsaw, Polish pianist and composer. He studied at the Music Institute in Warsaw at R. Strobel (piano) and Z. Noskowski (composition) and graduated in 1879. After studies, he became a piano teacher at the school of the Music Society in Krakow. At the same time, he gave concerts in Krakow, Lublin, Warsaw and other cities. He also went to Vienna for supplementary studies with T. Leszetycki; then he studied in Moscow at the school of the Philharmonic Society with P. Szostakowski (composition), where he taught piano for three years after graduation. In 1893, he moved to Odesa, later to Kyiv, where he became a professor of higher-class piano at the school of the Russian Musical Society. He gave concerts in Kyiv, Warsaw (1893, 1900, 1903) and Vienna (1893), performing, among others, his compositions and works by Beethoven, Chopin, Liszt, Schubert, Tchaikovsky, Noskowski and Paderewski. After a serious illness, he moved to Warsaw, where he died after a few months.
