Biography

Eisenberger Seweryn, *25 July 1879 Krakow, †11 December 1945 New York, Polish pianist. As a pupil of F. Grzywińska, he made his debut at the age of nine with Beethoven’s Concerto in B flat major. He continued his studies with H. Ehrlich in Berlin and, between 1896 and 1900, with T. Leszetycki in Vienna. He was a member of the famous Wiener-Trio. Between 1914 and 1920, he taught piano at the Conservatoire of the Music Society in Krakow. In 1922, he returned to Vienna, and from 1935 lived in the USA. He was noted for his interpretations of works by R. Schumann and J. Brahms.
