Bernabei Giuseppe Antonio, *circa 1659 Rome, †9 March 1732 Munich, son and student of Ercole, Italian composer and organist. In 1675–77, he worked as an organist in the Oratorio del SS. Crocifisso at the church of S. Marcello in Rome. In 1675, he was also the organist in the church of S. Luigi dei Francesi. In 1677, he moved to Munich, where he became vice-bandmaster of the court orchestra. After his father’s death, he took over as bandmaster of the same band, retaining it until his death (with a break in 1708–14). His work includes several operas staged in Munich, the manuscript scores which, almost completely preserved, are in the Nationalbibliothek in Vienna.
