What does PBM consist of? – A Guide to the Polish Music Library
LITTLE PWM
In a few days, we’re celebrating International Children’s Day. It’s a good thing because the next entry in our instructional series concerns the Little PWM tab.
Little PWM is an additional module of the Polish Music Library aimed at a specific group of recipients – it collects sets intended for children and young people. It also offers multimedia creative activities promoting music education.
Resources
The main component of Little PWM is the Collections subpage, which facilitates access to digital PWM resources selected for the youngest users of the portal. It is divided into three thematic blocks:

- Scores– here you will find educational pieces, collections of compositions for children and young people covering a whole range of issues, both technical and interpretative.
- Pictures – as we know from previous entries, the Pictures section is an extensive and very diverse resource. In the children’s module, the search engine will display those works that may suit the interests of the youngest – photos and graphics showing the construction of instruments with the marking of individual elements, fragments of graphics illustrating animals or instrumentalists, as well as photos of toys from the past century.

- Videos – a small collection of animations illustrating the publishing and digitisation processes carried out at Polskie Wydawnictwo Muzyczne in a creative and accessible way.

Multimedia
The remaining subpages, which you will find in the described tab, offer activities that develop creativity and imagination, but also provide a moment of relaxation with a musical accent. Among them you will find:

- Puzzle – scatterings of colourful graphics known mainly from the covers of PWM publications. You decide on the level of difficulty of the game. Will you take up the challenge and choose the most difficult configuration?
- Colouring books – a selection of illustrations by Mateusz Kołek and colouring books designed especially for the PBM portal with users in mind who want to create a musical world in their favourite colours. You can colour online or download files for printing and enjoy them wherever you want.
- Collages – it will allow you to design a greeting card or collage using ready-made stickers and a content editor.
- Brain teasers – offer two options for fun: a combination of puzzles and Sudoku to solve online or a musical Sudoku to download and print. Will you be tempted?
- Recommended educational games – here you will find a description of other educational mobile applications of Polskie Wydawnictwo Muzyczne, which we recommend to you.

The Polish Music Library is not only a treasure trove of musical scores, archival graphics and entries from the irreplaceable Encyclopaedia of Music. It is also a place of education, as well as creative fun and relaxation. See for yourself which elements of the portal best suit your interests.
