Zaremba z Bunkowa Jan, Polish reformer from around the mid-16th century. He is mentioned in Elegia by Andrzej Trzecieski the Younger, and J. Krókowski has suggested that he could have been the son of Wacław, the castellan of Nakło, and the nephew of Andrzej Górka, which would indicate his origins in Greater Poland. Zaremba published a Calvinist hymnal Pieśni chwa[ł boskich] (Brześć Litewski 1558), containing monophonic and polyphonic hymns by, among others, C. Bazylik and Wacław of Szamotuły. Fragments of the unique work, found in the 1930s, were lost during World War II; today, photocopies of 19 pages have been preserved. Part of the content of Zaremba’s print was taken over by J. Seklucjan for the collection Pieśni chrześcijańskie (Królewiec 1559).
