Digitisation and sharing of digital resources of the PWM Edition and the Polish Composers’ Union

The PWM Edition and the project partner, the Polish Composers’ Union [ZKP], are implementing the project: “Digitisation and sharing of digital resources of the PWM Edition and the Polish Composers’ Union.”

The main objective of the project is the systemic development of the digitisation process, improvement of the quality of digitally shared resources and increase of online accessibility of musical cultural heritage for effective use of its potential for its popularisation in the country and abroad.

Thanks to the implementation of the project, digital images will be created for 13,950 objects co-creating a unique resource of the national musical heritage. In addition to basic metadata, the objects will gain interpretative content that will allow for the development of digitised material for a wide audience in a contextual manner, emphasising the history and significance of the objects. As part of the project, 5,948 objects will be made available.

The project’s recipients are: philharmonics, musical theatres, orchestras, choirs, music schools, academies, universities, ballet schools, radio and other music institutions, lecturers and teachers, pupils and students, conductors, composers, artists and other music professionals, participants of the “Warsaw Autumn” Festival.

Project products:

– modernised IT software layer necessary for digitisation and ongoing archiving,

– modernised digitisation stations,

– expanded hardware layer of IT infrastructure necessary for digitisation and ongoing archiving,

– modernised Polish Music Library portal,

– modernized repository.

Total project cost: PLN 32,284,835.29

EU funding for the project: PLN 25,184,526.76

Project implementation period: from 01.06.2025 to 31.05.2028

Digitisation of resources owned by PWM Edition – continuation

PWM Edition is also implementing a second project co-financed by European Funds, “Digitization of resources owned by PWM Edition – continuation”.

The main objective of the project is the systemic development of the digitisation process, improvement of the quality of resources shared digitally and increase of online availability of musical cultural heritage for effective use of its potential for popularization in the country and abroad.

The activities are aimed at digital sharing of cultural resources and accessibility and usability of public sector information.

Total value of the project: PLN 11,534,171.29

Including EU funding: PLN 8,797,815.16

Project implementation period: from 05.06.2020 to 31.12.2023

Digitisation of resources owned by PWM Edition

PWM Edition is implementing a project co-financed by European Funds “Digitisation of resources owned by PWM Edition.”

The aim of the project is to digitize resources owned by PWM Edition under the Operational Programme Digital Poland.

The activities are aimed at digitally sharing cultural resources and the availability and usability of public sector information.

Total project value: PLN 8,665,478.75

Including EU funding: PLN 7,309,082.86
