Biography

Moyzes Mikuláš, *6 December 1872 Zvolenská Slatina, †2 April 1944 Prešov, Slovakian composer. He gained musical education in private schools and at the music academy in Budapest. In 1908, he settled in Prešov, taught music and researched the folklore of the eastern regions of Slovakia. Mikuláš Moyzes was one of the first researchers of Slovak folk music, his achievements were significant for the subsequent development of folklore research.
