Biography

Kątski Zygmunt, *?, †?, Polish cellist, son of Apolinary. He was a student at the Institute of Music in Warsaw. In 1879 he became a cello teacher at the music school of the Music Society in Krakow. Furthermore, he was a member of the string quartet of the same Society, founded at the time, which performed mainly in Krakow in the early 1980s. Besides, Zygmunt Kątski also performed with other artists, including S. Barcewicz, and gave a number of concerts in several Polish and Russian cities with his father and sister Wanda. His concert activity dates from the 1870s to the early 1880s.
