Fokine, Vitale (EN)

Fokine Vitale, Mikhailovich, *17 (4) December 1905 St Petersburg, †29 December 1978, son of Michel and Vera, Russian dancer, choreographer and teacher. Between 1921 and 1956, he performed in his father’s ballets and also staged them in the USA and Paris; between 1956 and 1958, he worked with the Ballet Théâtre d’Art de Paris, and between 1969 and 1976, he taught at Point Park College in Pittsburgh. Following his father’s death in 1942, he ran the Fokines’ ballet school in New York.
