Fischer, Fiszer, Fhisher, Józef, †1744 Włocławek, bandmaster, cellist and composer. In 1728–1733, he was a music director of the band of the Norbertines in Strzelno, from where he moved to Włocławek to the position of cathedral bandmaster, which he held until his death. He might be Christian Fischer’s son, the cellist of the Włocławek band. During his stay in Strzelno and Włocławek and at the request of the cathedral chapter in Gniezno, he composed vocal and instrumental pieces. The only works known by title are Litania de Beata Maria Virgine (1739), Concertus Figuralis (1741) and Concertus Choralis (1742). He probably died during an epidemic.
