Fantoni Lodovico, 17th c., Italian singer and priest from Lucca. He was hired by the royal chapel in Warsaw before 1633; after a few years, he became royal secretary, and his musical duties were thereafter relegated to a secondary role. He remained in the position of secretary until the end of Michał Wiśniowiecki’s reign (1673). He was particularly active during the reign of John II Casimir; the Orsini archives in Rome preserve his extensive correspondence, the so-called avvisi (over 300 letters), sent from the Polish court to Cardinal V. Orsini in Rome. Fantoni was also a correspondent of K. Opaliński. From 1644, he held Kraków citizenship and, as a prebend, a canonry in Frombork, where he resided in later years.
