Dreyschock, Aleksander
Dreyschock, Dreyšok, Raimund, Raymund, *30 August 1824 Žáky, †6 February 1869 Leipzig, brother of Alexander, Czech violinist, and teacher. He accompanied his brother on artistic journeys, was second concertmaster of the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra from 1850 and professor of violin at the conservatory there. His wife, Elizabeth (1832–1911), was a singer (alto), and directed her own Gesangsinstitut [vocal academy] from 1867 in Leipzig and, after her husband’s death, in Berlin.
