Domenico da Piacenza, Domenichino da Ferrara, *late 14th century Piacenza, †after 1465, Italian master and theorist of dance, choreographer, composer, poet. Around 1416 he stayed in Ferrara as teacher of Leonello d’Este. Author of the collection De arte saltandi et choreas ducendi, containing 17 dances in the form of balli and bassa danza as well as 15 melodies. Other compositions by Domenico have survived in manuscripts by his pupils. He was the teacher of A. Cornazano and Guglielmo Ebreo. He spent most of his life in Piacenza; in 1465 he appeared for the last time in Milan.
