Doblinger Ludwig, *1816, †1876, Austrian music bookseller. In 1857, he acquired a music bookshop in Vienna (founded in 1817) from F. Mainzer. In 1876, B. Herzmansky the Elder (1852–1921) became a new owner. Editorial activity (pedagogical and popular works) began in 1883. Around 1900, the publishing house was famous for publishing operetta music (C.M. Herzmansky the Younger (1888–1954), publishing mainly chamber music and works by contemporary Austrian composers. In 1954, the management was taken over by Ch. Wolff (*1913), who in 1958 initiated the well-known series «Diletto Musicale», covering mainly pre-classical and classical music of the Viennese circle. In total, the publishing house has published over 10 thousand titles. The company also runs a bookstore, an antiquarian bookshop and a phonographic department.
