Danysz Kazimierz, *24 March 1840 Poznań, †8 February 1912 Łódź, Polish pianist, conductor, and composer. From 1861 to 1866, he pursued musical studies in Berlin, studying composition with A.E. Grell and F. Kiel, and piano with C.A. Löschhorn. In 1865, he founded a Polish male choir in Berlin, which he conducted until he took a position as a singing teacher at the Stern Conservatory. Between 1872 and 1874, he performed as a pianist in Berlin and Poznań. In 1884, he settled in Warsaw, where from 1885 he conducted a choir that performed, among other works, Haydn’s The Creation (1885 and 1887). He also attempted to organize an amateur orchestra and worked as a piano and singing teacher. From 1894, he worked in Łódź as a conductor of choirs, including the “Lutnia” society (1894–1895).
