Biography

Crivelli Gaetano, *20 October 1768 Brescia, †10 July 1836 Brescia, Italian singer (tenor). From 1793 he sang in Brescia, then in Naples, Rome, Venice and Milan; in 1811 he succeeded M. Garcia as first tenor at the Théâtre des Italiens in Paris. Between 1817 and 1818 he performed in London, and later returned to Italy; in 1831 he retired from the stage. He composed numerous songs and canzonettas. His son Domenico (1793–1857) was a renowned singing teacher.
