Cooley [kˊu:ly] Timothy John, *15 X 1962 Norfolk (Wirginia), amerykański etnomuzykolog. W latach 1981–85 studiował wokalistykę i etnomuzykologię w konserwatorium w Wheaton (Illinois), w latach 1986–87 historię muzyki i literaturę w Northwestern University w Evanston (Illinois). Od 1993 prowadził badania terenowe na Podhalu, w 1999 doktoryzował się u J.T. Titona na Brown University w Providence na podstawie pracy Ethnography, Tourism and Music-Culture in the Tatra Mountain. Negotiated Representations of Polish Górale Ethnicity. Od 1999 wykłada etnomuzykologię na University of California w Santa Barbara.
