Cilli Alessandro, *16th c. Pistoia, †after 1639 Pistoia (?), włoski priest and musician. Between 1595 and 1617 he was a servitor of King Sigismund III Vasa; he also visited Poland later, including in February 1619. At the royal court he was active as a musician (tenor?), although, as far as is known, he did not belong to the permanent ensemble of the court chapel. The attribution to him of the position of royal kapellmeister in earlier literature is the result of a misunderstanding.
Cilli wrote a panegyrical account of the Zebrzydowski Rebellion and the Muscovite War, as well as the victory at Khotyn in 1621: Historia delle sollevationi (…) e dell’ationi heroiche e memorabili imprese fatte in Moscovia da (…) Sigismondo III… (Pistoia, 1627). In the years 1608–1620 (?) Cilli provided the Medici court with political reports from Poland.
