Biography

Brzezińska-Szymanowska Filipina, *1 January 1800, †10 November 1886 Warsaw, Polish pianist and composer, sister of a husband of Maria Szymanowska. She studied with Ch. Mayer, a student of J. Field. She played works in “style brillante”, requiring fingering proficiency and delicate sound shading. Her song with patriotic character Nie opuszczaj nas was commonly sung during January Uprising.
