Banaszek Janusz, *5 March 1934 Vilnius, Polish oboist. He studied oboe at the State Higher School of Music in Warsaw under S. Śnieckowski, graduating with honors in 1960. He was the principal oboist in the National Philharmonic Orchestra (1953–68) and the Grand Theatre in Warsaw (1968–71), and since 1971 he has held this position in the orchestra of the Musical Theatre in Gdynia. He was a member of the Wind Trio at the Warsaw Philharmonic and a soloist with its Chamber Ensemble. He also collaborated with the Polish Radio Experimental Music Studio in Warsaw and the Musica Antiqua Collegium Varsoviense ensemble.
