Biography

Argasińska-Choynowska Stanisława, *31 May 1888 Stanisławów (now Ivano-Frankivsk), †19 March 1961 Kraków, Polish singer (soprano) and teacher. She studied vocals with A. Paschalis in Dresden and piano with V. Kurtz at the conservatory in Lviv. In 1915–39, she performed many times at the Lviv Opera, at the Grand Theater in Warsaw, as well as in Kraków and other cities. She gave concerts in Paris, Stockholm, Sofia and South America; she was known mainly as a stage singer. After World War II, she devoted herself to teaching. From 1954, she taught solo singing at the State Higher School of Music in Kraków and Katowice.
