“A Multifaceted Perspective on the Work and Its Creator in the Polish Music Library” – a presentation of the Polish Music Library portal’s resources at the 12th edition of the Student Scientific Conference The Many Meanings of Sound.
The conference, organized by the Student Research and Artistic Group of Composition and Music Theory at the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław took place on 12 and 13 May 2026. Since 2014, the event has provided students and researchers who work in the field of music theory, musicology, and related disciplines with an opportunity to meet and exchange their ideas.
The theme of this year’s edition was In Musical Symbiosis, which according to the organizers “emphasized the diversity of perspectives, creative collaboration, and dialogue among different fields of arts and science”.

The PWM Editions was represented by Dr Magdalena Bartnikowska-Biernat, editor of the PWM online encyclopaedia, who delivered a presentation entitled “A Multifaceted Perspective on the Work and Its Creator in the Polish Music Library”.
The presentation provided an opportunity to showcase the functionality of the PBM portal and the diversity of its resources to the audience for whom it can serve as an excellent research tool. The speaker also presented plans for the portal’s modernization and the expansion of its digital resources, emphasizing the role of the 3rd stage of the digitization project in the development of the Polish Music Library.
