Today marks an important date for all furry friend lovers – International Cat Day! Let’s take a look at which PWM and PBM resources are related to cats.

Karol Szymanowski was a great cat lover, and in our Ikonoteka you will find several photographs of the composer with his four-legged friend. In Zakopiańskie dni Karola Szymanowskiego 1894-1936 by Teresa Chylińska you will find the following recollection about the villa Atma in Zakopane, where Szymanowski lived:
“There were always cats in the house – one was called Rosenberg. Rosenberg, who was on bad terms with another cat named Paulina Szklarska, was later given away on the condition that his new owner would not change his name”.

The cat symbol accompanies PWM’s pedagogical series for the young learners – check out some of our titles! You can find them in the Sheet Music section at polskabibliotekamuzyczna.pl and in our online bookstore.
