Statistics of visits to the Polish Music Library website in 2023
The website of the Polish Music Library in its new, modernised version has been operating for almost a year. Statistics kept for the portal confirm the constant increase in interest in the Library’s resources, so we lead up to adapt the website to the needs of our Users. We regularly monitor the website traffic and undertake tasks to improve the operation of the website.
Number of visits to the portal
Over the last twelve months, the website of the Polish Music Library was visited by 33,000 users. Most views were recorded in Poland, especially in larger urban centres such as Warsaw, Kraków, Wrocław, Poznań, and Katowice, but also in other countries in Europe and around the world.

Number of downloads and views of musical and iconographic works made available in the Polish Music Library
Since the beginning of the website, we have published approximately 17,000 objects in Pictures and almost 5,000 records in Notes. The measure of interest in sheet music and iconographic materials available in the Polish Music Library is the number of downloads and views of these works on the website. In the period from 28.01.2023 to 28.01.2024, users downloaded and viewed online materials 559,027 times.

Number of views of available encyclopaedia entries
PBM users are also willing to learn about biographies and descriptions of the work of composers and other figures from the world of music. The online Music Encyclopaedia currently offers 3,500 entries available to every person. Since the publication of the new website module in 2023, approximately 51,000 views of encyclopaedia entries have been recorded. Entries about Polish and foreign composers are most popular, as illustrated by the fragment of the table below generated using the Google Analytics tool.

Website development
Observing the website traffic and the activity of the users of the Polish Music Library, we are strengthened in our belief that we are fulfilling the mission of improving the availability of musical cultural heritage online. The awareness of the growing interest in the resources we publish motivates us to expand the collections available digitally during the period of project durability.
