Finally, it’s the desired May, and with it, the even more desired long May weekend!
These carefree, sunny days may be accompanied by pleasant sounds of marimba, which becomes the Instrument of the Month in May.
Marimba
✔ Percussion idiophone (like bells, xylophone and vibraphone). It is equipped with resonator pipes amplifying sound, which are under wooden bars. Two pairs of special mallets are used to play it.
✔ As a folk instrument, it has been independently developed in cultures of Western Africa and Middle America.
✔ As a classical percussion instrument, it is used both in a symphonic orchestra and as a solo instrument.
