Hand rest, boot joint, wing joint. Add a bocal, reed and a bell joint. What will be created from joining these and a few other elements? It is a follower of a medieval dulcian and a 16th-century German flute.
The next hero of the Instrument of the Month initiative. It has been known since Baroque in its present form. It has two varieties – German and French, different in sound, mechanism and the size of the instrument. It gained its position in the symphony orchestra with the advent of the Classical era, appearing in the compositions of J.S. Bach, J. Haydn, G.F. Händel and W.A. Mozart. Currently, it is often used in soundtracks for films, including animated ones, due to its characteristic illustrative sounds.
